How can APPS enhance digital consumers' experience?

A digital consumer is concerned about convenience and price, meaning to buy the products without wasting time to travel to the stores. Therefore, before delivering the goods and services to the customers on behalf of the suppliers, e-commerce applications need to be recognised by the buyers for the core value that they offer. Here are some suggestions:

Method of Payment:

COD or “Cash on Delivery'' is a common concept that buyers are very familiar with when they purchase products online as the method allows buyers to pay by cash when they receive the goods, which makes it more convenient as consumers are aware about the security and information leak (Anjum & Chai 2020). Moreover, the result from a survey conducted in a Saudi Arabia in 2018 has proven that 75% of the respondents has answered at least one-time online shopping per month and all of them choose to pay by cash (Khalid et al. 2018), so there is a great potential to grow for this type of purchase specifically in developing nations. To summarize, digital consumers will prefer applications with the easier payment method as part of the criteria in the convenience aspect.

Lower price charged:

According to The Balance, most of daily products on the e-commerce platform are sold at a lower price, usually up to 10%, compared to purchase at the stores as the suppliers do not have to pay the rental fee which makes this type of purchase more competitive than physical purchase (Montaldo & Wohlner 2021). When firms offer the same product quality but for a cheaper price, the consumers will be incentivised to purchase more but that is not all the cases. Some buyers are “origin sensitive”, which means that made in the USA or made in China can be crucial for them. Although there is a law of consumer protection, firms still need to take into consideration the products’ value before pricing and try to avoid charging too low.

Delivery-time and cost:

Through an application, buyers can track on the day that the package will be delivered, however, mature people have a busy life to work and earn money for a living. They will not have much time staying at home and wait for the delivery person to come and sign into the package’s confirmation paper. But through the application, buyers can choose the range time that are comfortable with them to pick-up the goods which is time effective and the delivering department will not have to travel many times to transport the orders which is cost effective. To summarize, shopping through an application allows the transaction to become faster, which has contributed significantly to save up resources for further allocation (Stein 2021).

In my point of view, the main point is that customer care is the core value the application can bring to them, and after they have satisfied with the experience then the brands, firms and marketers can start to promote more to expand the business.
